Product Description

The Hydrocolloid dressing being a family of wound management products contains gel forming agents like Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium etc. They are combined with elastomers and adhesives over a sheet of polyurethane film to form an absorbent, self-adhesive water proof dressing. In the presence of wound exudates the adhesive mass absorbs liquid and forms a gel, the properties of which are determined by the nature of the formulation, some dressing form a cohesive gel, which is largely contained within the adhesive matrix: other form more mobile, less viscous gels which are not retained within the dressing structure.

Indications

Low to moderately exudating wounds Pressure ulcers Infected wounds

Application

  • Assess, debride and clean the wound according to the protocols you or your facility would use
  • Treat with medication if infected
Apply the HycoloidTM over the entire wound
  • Secure the primary dressing suitably
  • Change the Dressing as per the condition of the wound and soakage - normally once in three days
